John F. Kennedy Could Be A Republican Today

One thing which many pundits seem to have lost sight of is the way that the goalposts keep moving with regard to our politicians. Take the following quotes from John F. Kennedy for example.

I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House – with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone.

These days only conservatives say good things about the founding fathers.

In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility – I welcome it.

Sending troops to fight against communism is something that today’s liberals would not even dream about, they don’t even want us to fight Islamic fundamentalists.

Israel was not created in order to disappear – Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy and it honors the sword of freedom.

Compare JFK’s views on Israel to Obama’s decrying the “occupation” by the Israelis.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

Unless those nations happen to be Poland or the Czech Rebublic.

The goal of education is the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of truth.

As long as truth consists of Barack Hussein Obama worship.

We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.

Unless the American people won’t buy our healthcare plan.

These days Republicans are following political correctness, lauding “diversity” and fear quoting the founding fathers because they might be smeared by the fringe media as “right wing kooks”.
