Is Obama Naive, Arrogant or Evil?
Looking at big “O”s political views and policies it is time that we asked ourselves the question above. I cannot see any other explanation for why he would try to follow in the footsteps of others who have failed badly at redistribution of wealth, or socialism as it is more commonly known. History has many examples of regimes that have tried the stepping stone to communism that socialism really is. (Vladimir Lenin – “The goal of socialism is communism".) All that have gone down that road have failed.
As Margaret Thatcher once said in an interview
“…and Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They [socialists] always run out of other people’s money. It’s quite a characteristic of them.”
Mrs Thatcher also said of socialism
“Communist regimes were not some unfortunate aberration, some historical deviation from a socialist ideal. They were the ultimate expression, unconstrained by democratic and electoral pressures, of what socialism is all about. … In short, the state [is] everything and the individual nothing.”
Yet another from the great lady.
“Socialism’s results have ranged between the merely shabby and the truly catastrophic – poverty, strife, oppression and, on the killing fields of communism, the deaths this century of perhaps 100 million people. Against that doctrine was set a contrary, conservative belief in a law-governed liberty. It was this view which triumphed with the crumbling of the Berlin Wall. Since then, the Left has sought rehabilitation by distancing itself from its past”
Prefer Winston Churchill?
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
What about a few words from somebody Obama claims is his hero? The following from Abraham Lincoln.
“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.”
“You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.”
“You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.”
“You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.”
“You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.”
“You cannot build character and courage by taking away men’s initiative and independence.”
“You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.”
“Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.”
The above quotes are simply people who predate Obama by many years stating the obvious to anybody who is intellectually honest.
Russia, North Korea, China and many South American states have tried and failed to introduce various form of “social justice” (a nicer sounding name for robbing Peter to pay Paul) and the results are always the same. Many of the citizens try to run away while the rest are subjugated by brutal totalitarian tactics. Those who point to the success of China should remember Tiananmen Square and the fact that only the capitalists in China are productive, without them the entire system would have collapsed long ago.
If Obama is unaware of the many failures that have gone before his own attempt he is frighteningly naive. If he thinks that he can succeed where others failed either because of his intellect, personality or widely acclaimed skills at reading from a teleprompter then he is astonishingly arrogant. The only alternative to naiveté or arrogance is to believe that he is evil and is deliberately destroying the most powerful economy in the world.
Whether he is repaying some imagined slight or whether he believes that America is bad and deserves to be punished is of no consequence, his ruinous policies will produce the same end no matter what his reasons.
The plain and simple truth of the matter is that for the first time in history the people put a man in the White House who has shown absolutely no pride at being American and nothing but contempt for the constitution that he swore to protect. The first chance to minimize the damage from that wrong-headed decision is 2010.
