Obamaspeak

In Obamaland things must be different. They have to be as he is the first politician who has ever uttered the phrase job-killing tax cuts. In Obamaland tax cuts cause job losses. Everybody else in our world talks about job-killing tax hikes but maybe since he thinks that the government is the only entity to create jobs what he is referring to is federal employees. If we cut taxes enough (and don’t run enormous deficits) then tax cuts will cause job losses among federal employees. You know, those guys who make 20% more than those in the private sector and who have a better chance of dying than being fired.

Another example of the fact that Obama exists in another dimension is his use of the term “spending reductions in the tax code” when talking about reducing the deficit. is it possible that Obama’s speech writers accidentally slipped up on that? Or do all earnings automatically belong to the government in Obamaland with anything that they allow the earner of the money to keep regarded as government spending? Even Jon Stewart saw the irony in Obama’s words.

What? “Spending reductions in the tax code”? The tax code isn’t where we spend, it’s where we collect, and that…. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I guess what you said is tax “code”, code for raising taxes. You managed to talk about a tax hike as a spending reduction. Can we afford that and the royalty checks you’re going to have to send to George Orwell? That’s the weirdest way of… just say “tax hike”! That’s like saying, “I’m not going on a diet, I’m going to add calories to my excluded food intake!”

In Obamaspeak “radical” doesn’t describe ramming an unpopular health care bill which requires an unprecedented penalty to citizens who fail to buy something and is so unpopular among the very groups that supported its passage that more than 1,000 waivers have been handed out. “Radical” is doing something like amending the constitution to ensure that the budget is balanced.

We don’t need to do anything radical.

In Obamaland any reduction of taxes costs the government money, regardless of the fact that they were shown to boost federal revenue.

One piece of Obamaspeak that we can be sure we will hear more often as the incumbent gets more desperate as 2012 draws closer is “blame Bush”

Spending Cut Specifics

Having heard “The One” repeatedly excoriated by conservatives for not specifying any spending cuts the lamestream media is circling the wagons to defend their president. Chris “Tingling Leg” Matthews asked Rep. Joe Walsh several times where the cuts were in the Cut, Cap and balance bill. I think that Joe did a splendid job despite Chris Matthews talking over him whenever he tried to answer a question.

Matthews being reminded of his most embarrassing quote.

While I have doubts about the mental acuity of anybody over the age of 25 who still supports any Democrat policies I cannot believe that Chris Matthews is not aware that balancing the budget would entail some serious cuts to the budget, like well north of a trillion dollars. The reason for not going into specifics is to deny the Democrats the opportunity to demagogue about the Republicans balancing the budget on the backs of:

  1. Minorities.
  2. The elderly.
  3. The poor.
  4. The sick.
  5. Single mothers.
  6. Students
  7. Any irresponsible woman who wants an abortion on demand.

Take your pick of the above answers.

Everybody knows deep down in their hearts that Obama doesn’t want and won’t agree to any specific cuts. He’d rather heap more taxes onto the rich which thinking people realize hurts the economy by driving investments overseas or else the increases simply trickle down to everybody as price increases. Obama even stated baldly that he would rather talk about new programs at a news conference he called to complain about the intransigence of the Republicans.

Having a balanced budget amendment in the constitution is the only way that anybody will be able to club sense into Obama. His own party would have no choice other than to vote with Republicans as a super majority to get around the presidential veto which Obama would most likely use to block any budget with any sort of real cuts.

It’s pretty obvious that the title for the party of no has passed on to the Democrats. No plans to cut the deficit, no budget for over two years and no fresh ideas, just a bunch of rehashed progressive talking points and insults.

Meet the Republicans new rising star giving an even better showing on Meet the Press.

Marco Rubio on Meet the Press

I’d love to see Marco verbally tear into Chris Matthews but then Chris wouldn’t want him on the show.

Herman Cain on Mosques

Who would you trust more, Herman Cain, successful former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, or HAMAS’ unindicted co-conspirator, muslim brotherhood run CAIR?

Herman Cain

Presidential candidate Herman Cain on Sunday defended his opposition to a new mosque in Tennessee, expressing concern about Shariah law and declaring Americans "have the right" to ban mosques in their communities.

Cain, who stirred controversy this year by saying he would be uncomfortable appointing a Muslim to his Cabinet if elected, first expressed concern Thursday about the controversial mosque in Murfreesboro, Tenn. That mosque has been the subject of demonstrations and legal challenges in the wake of the controversy over the so-called "Ground Zero mosque" in New York City.

CAIR

CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper, describing Cain’s stance on the Tennessee mosque as a possible "sign of desperation," said other Republican candidates and leaders should also distance themselves from that kind of rhetoric.

"It’s incumbent on reasonable people within the Republican Party to come out strongly and repudiate these kinds of un-American unconstitutional views," he said. "It’s just so bizarre."

Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Alavi Gorgani

"We have to know where we gained this revolution and when the revolution conquered" said Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Alavi Gorgani stressing mosques as the place where the turning points of the revolution happened.

Iranian grand jurisprudent said," Uprising of Imam Hossein (AS) was a blessing for our Islamic Revolution. He also started his uprising from mosques, therefore we all owe the victory of the Islamic Revolution to mosques."

The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers…

Insurgents use mosques and other religious centres to plan their attacks against government, a senior official in National Directorate of Security said Thursday.
Insurgent attacks are often planned in mosques and five individuals including two Imams were detained in Kabul in connection with the issue, NDS Spokesperson, Lotfullah Mashal told a news conference.
Organisers of Kabul suicide bombing, who targeted a supermarket in a busy diplomatic area last week, have been identified.
National security forces have recently detained the Imam of a mosque located in 10th district of Kabul along with a religious student from Kandahar over charges of facilitating insurgent activities in the country.
National security forces seized 12 magnetic mines and more than 10 IEDs from the Imam that were kept in the mosque.

I know who I trust more.

Balanced Budget Amendment

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., likewise bashed a GOP plan to push for a balanced-budget amendment in exchange for raising the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling.

"The bottom line is those who want to push a balanced-budget amendment are saying ‘I can’t promise you that I won’t steal again, but I will vote for the Ten Commandments,’" he said on NBC’s "Meet the Press."

A democrat against a balanced budget amendment . . . imagine that! That’s like a burglar being against alarms and watchdogs.

Sometimes I wish that the profligate Bush years had never happened because then the democrats would have nobody to blame and the current huge deficits and the recession would be the ultimate millstone around their necks. The democrats would probably cease to exist as a functioning political party. (Changed that, who thinks that they are functional?)

Then reality creeps back and I realize that if 9-11 had happened under Gore he would have probably blamed CO2 induced global warming for making the muslim minds feverish. Can anybody even begin to imagine the enormous mess the USA would be in security wise if we had eight years of Gore or Kerry followed by Obama?

Regressive Progressives

Calvin Coolidge would have many lessons for today’s so-called progressives and quite a few for today’s conservatives. Becoming president by succession when Warren G. Harding died in office he was re-elected in 1924 and oversaw the roaring twenties after a recession in 1920-21. His small government views would be considered rabidly right wing today and the modern left would say that his policies would destroy the country even though under the first year of his administration unemployment was down to 3.3% from a high of 20% in 1921.

Here are a few of the things that he said.

No enterprise can exist for itself alone. It ministers to some great need, it performs some great service, not for itself, but for others; or failing therein, it ceases to be profitable and ceases to exist.

Todays liberals would do well to understand this rather than to promulgate class warfare. People do not become successful without performing a service for others unless they are engaged in something illegal.

It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern.  But that reasoning cannot be applied to this great charter.  If all men are created equal, that is final.  If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final.  If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final.  No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions.  If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people.  Those who wish to proceed in that direction cannot lay claim to progress.  They are reactionary.  Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.

This is just as relevant today as it was when Coolidge said it. The idea that men’s strengths or their weaknesses and vices have advanced is just plain wrong. Those who pervert our language and claim themselves as “progressives” are just plain lying or, if they believe their own claims, stupid.

The man who builds a factory builds a temple, that the man who works there worships there, and to each is due, not scorn and blame, but reverence and praise.

Modern unionists and the politicians that support them should all read that one.

Perhaps one of the most important accomplishments of my administration has been minding my own business.

President Obama should heed this when he next signs a bill that extends the government into what should be completely private domains.

The right thing to do never requires any subterfuge, it is always simple and direct.

This should reflect badly on all of the closed meetings that the current administration is so fond of.

There is no dignity quite so impressive, and no one independence quite so important, as living within your means.

Balanced budget amendment anyone?

To live under the American Constitution is the greatest political privilege that was ever accorded to the human race.

Maybe Obama needs to take another look at this “flawed” document. Perhaps his reading comprehension has improved after all his time spent with the teleprompter.
